Humans and societies function within cycles that are mirrored in the sky by the locations of the planets and the Moon going around the Sun. Just as it is possible to consider the basic personalities of the people invited to a party and predict what kind of party might result, it is possible to use planetary analysis to anticipate the qualities of the human social field on Earth during a given period of time. Astrology can predict how individuals might be feeling, just by knowing the archetypal influence of each planet plus the Moon. Just like a wild rock-n-roll dance party is very different from a black-tie dinner party, life on Earth is very different during wartime than it is during peacetime. Astrology also states clearly when an influence begins and is finished; this makes it possible to look back or go forward in time to identify patterns. Meanwhile, the Elite (powers-that-be that control the world) debunk astrology while using it as a tool to predict human behavior to perpetrate their power games. This site observes how some global political powers use astrology to stay one step ahead of the people. Astrology is the highest art for analyzing human behavior, and smart people use it. AstroFlash! looks at how the Elite might be planning events for us during the end of the Mayan Calendar, and it offers tips on how to live better amidst such transformative times. Also, this astrological analysis includes the influences of the Days and Nights of the Galactic Underworld-1999-2011, based on Carl Johan Calleman's time acceleration hypothesis, which explores Nine Underworlds of evolution in the universe over 16.4 billion years. AstroFlash! explores how individuals can succeed and be free and happy during the remainder of the Mayan Calendar. How have we gotten to this critical juncture? Why are 1999 through 2011 so critical for the survival of our species? My recent book Catastrophobia (2001) theorizes that we are afflicted with a crippling, species-level, post-traumatic stress syndrome that I call "catastrophobia". This trauma complex developed 11,500 years ago as the result of a great cosmic catastrophe in our solar system. This malaise in the collective psyche of our species deepened during thousands of years after the 9500 BC cataclysm, when our ancestors endured starvation and horrific environmental stress. Before this time during the Regional Underworld-100,000 BC through AD 2011--Earth was the Garden of Eden; we experienced oneness with our planet. These events that separated us from nature are deeply buried in our minds. Just like adults who once endured early-childhood abuse that they've largely forgotten, we must heal ourselves by recovering these memories and understanding how they have changed us. Catastrophobia presents evidence that Earth's axis did not tilt very much before 9500 BC, when the cosmic disaster disarranged the whole solar system. Therefore, AstroFlash! is structured by seasonality--equinoxes and solstices-because once the axis tilted, early humans quickly learned how to maximize their potential by arranging their lives by the seasons. Seasonality is not taken into account much in modern times, but it actually has a huge influence on human consciousness. George W. Bush invaded Iraq exactly during the Spring Equinox of 2003 because the Elite knew this moment had formative potential. This was also Day Tree of the Galactic, so this invasion caused events that will influence the rest of the Galactic Underworld. Once Earth's axis tilted 11,500 years ago, the new seasons necessitated agriculture for human survival, and gradually hunter-gatherer cultures gave up their ways of life that were in harmony with nature. Focus on the seasons and lunar cyles goes way back to more than 10,000 years ago, which is why AstroFlash! examines them in detail. I've discovered ancient ways to balance our consciousness by showing how to use the potentiality of each season with intention. I believe that we must utilize the potential of this quarterly pattern to slowly integrate our neurological systems with the changes caused by the recently tilting axis. Like Humpty Dumpty falling off his wall, we can't put ourselves back together again. We can use the cycles of the Moon to master our emotions very effectively when the lunar analysis is understood in light of the four seasons. This technique really helps us handle time acceleration. The great cataclysm disarranged the solar system and greatly disturbed many planetary patterns. For example, Uranus tilts 90 degrees on its axis. Uranus rules cultural transformations, and by its foundation chart, the United States is very influenced by Uranus. Now that we are moving into the Age of Aquarius, which Uranus rules, the USA is poised to become the global empire. AstroFlash! incorporates the birth chart of the USA in 1776, which is in the Methodology which follows. The ancients discovered they could assess politics realm by examining the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn every twenty years-the Trigons. The current Elite, the "Bushites", seized the agenda of the recent May 2000 Trigon. This has enabled them to run the show during the Galactic Underworld, so this site examines their obvious use of astrology. It offers advice on how individuals can get out of the way, as the so-called "leaders" create mass-trauma events, such a 9/11. These things are done because they stimulate catastrophobia and fear. AstroFlash! breaks the four seasons down into three lunar cycles within the context of major planetary transits. I offer some lunar and seasonal chart comparison with background charts (see Methodology) by means of combust (less than 1 degree by conjunction) aspects. We begin with how you can master seasonality. This is written for people north of the equator, yet if you live south of the equator, just reverse summer and winter. The New Year is not January 1st! The new year-the Spring Equinox-occurs around March 21, when the Sun enters 0 degrees Aries by geocentric astrology. For Earth, this is when the Sun is directly over the equator. Then it tracks north until it reaches the Tropic of Cancer at 0 degrees Cancer during the Summer Solstice around June 21. Then it turns back and crosses over the equator at 0 degrees Libra during to the Fall Equinox around September 23. It moves south of the equator until it reaches the Tropic of Capricorn at 0 degrees Capricorn on the Winter Solstice around December 21. Then the Sun seems to move north again for its return to the equator for the next Spring Equinox. Of course, the Sun only seems to move in this pattern from Earth's view, since the phenomena is caused by the tilt of Earth's axis as it orbits the Sun during a solar year. The modern calendar abuses our conciousness! The time to make plans for each year is during the Spring Equinox, not during the so-called "New Year". The most philosophical and spiritual time of the year is the Winter Solstice, which is reduced to addictions and consumerism by Christmas shopping, eating, and drinking. In fact, December 21st to March 21st, the last quarter of the year, is our yearly completion time. The special days and nights right before the Winter Solstice are the most mystical time of the year, and we should meditate for hours during this time. Then when the Sun is in Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces before the Spring Equinox, we should be deepening our understandings of all the things we have learned during the last nine months-the previous Spring Equinox to the Winter Solstice. The Spring Equinox is the time to identify the intentions we wish to fulfill during the four seasons. Ideas correctly seeded at the Spring Equinox manifest for a year, and I will offer instructions for correctly seeding ideas and manifesting them through the rest of the seasons. During the Summer Solstice, the time has arrived to birth these ideas into recognizable form, like a forming fetus. The Fall Equinox is the time to flesh out, balance, and assess these creations and to weed things out that just are not working. Then the Winter Solstice is the time to enter into deep contemplation to imagine how our personal creations assist others and the planet. The Winter Solstice is the time to be brutally honest and evaluate whether our ideas enhance others or whether they may actually be detrimental for evolution. A sweet elixir of knowing comes the day of the Winter Solstice when the light begins to return, and each one of us can put greater realities above our personal desires. It is no accident that in Western cultures commercial Christmas is inserted just when people are amazingly psychic and attuned! I suggest you cancel Santa Claus during the Winter Solstice and spend three months reflecting on what you've created during the year. 2008 Summer Solstice: June 20/21, 2008 / View Chart The Summer Solstice invites us to open ourselves up like ripe spring flowers when the solar light reaches its maximum; the time has come to deepen and intensify our Spring Equinox intentions. In this form of astrology-Goddess Astrology-we aim to break down patriarchal control and take back our natural seasonal powers. The Spring Equinox is the beginning of the year, not New Year's Day. Every spring, we make three significant intentions for creative projects we'd like to manifest during the year, and then we craft ingenious ways to widen their potential during the summer. We balance this work in the fall, and then during the winter while the light increases, we consider what these creations mean for our planet. During the Summer Solstice, Earth receives the strongest solar light in the northern latitudes. Meanwhile, it is Winter Solstice in the southern latitudes. Our friends south of the Equator begin their planetary contemplation as we expand our work. The Sun encourages us grow and evolve, thus our personal development becomes the focus when the Sun moves into Cancer. Like exquisite roses that open slowly and delicately flower as they draw water efficiently up their stems, we manifest our greatest beauty. If you've prepared well for this moment during this spring, you will surely blossom. You can be fully conscious of your own special opening if you review your spring intentions, just before they explode to show your beauty to the Sun. As many of you know, my main work for the last year has been to encourage as many people as possible to take the next step in human evolution-to achieve peace and become a compassionate species. For those of you who have been watching my 1999-2011 predictions in The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind, we are reaching a critical juncture as we enter the Fourth World of the Galactic Underworld. You may need to consult The Mayan Code for more details on the Four Worlds of the Calendar to consider this major nexus point that occurs during the middle of this summer season-August 15, 2008. The Four Worlds expose the contents of the human collective mind, and according to my analysis of this factor, our group mind is contemplating the end of war. If significant moves in the direction of peace (especially in Israel/Palestine) do not occur, then I believe there is something wrong with either my own analysis of the cycles and/or Carl Calleman's basic hypothesis. As you will see in this reading, the accuracy of the predictions in The Mayan Code continues to be stunning. I recommend my book right now because using time acceleration in a conscious way is the essence of the critical leap. After all, if Calleman is right about the Mayan Calendar, and my own predictions are accurate, then there is great hope that we will take the next evolutionary step: peace on Earth. I bring this issue up here because as we move into this summer, the Summer Solstice chart exhibits significant patterns that could inspire the collective to long for the end of war. First of all, the fact that this chart (which directs large societal movements from June 20 through September 22, 2008) contains clues about how the Fourth World could usher in peace. Secondly, the chart seems to confirm my feeling that this summer is D-Day. Therefore, I will use this reading as an excuse to explore the kinds of changes that must occur in the collective mind to give peace a chance, since what happens to our species is the result of what is going on in our minds and hearts. The Pleiadians have always said that the galaxy and universe will know that we have changed when we stop killing one another. Also, seeing and imaging how this process might work out could be inspirational, and in that sense my Astroflash! is alchemical. Anything I can say that sheds light on human violence and hopelessness might be valuable. As many of you know, I've written that the human species is afflicted with a very damaging syndrome-"catastrophobia"-which is a stubborn feeling that the world is about to end. [See Catastrophobia: The Truth Behind Earth Changes.] The Galactic Underworld is processing all the layers of catastrophobia in our minds as we observe the mayor players on the world's stage. These days, religious fundamentalists-who believe the end of the world is nigh-lead many countries. They think it is useless to try to fix anything for the future, or even to act in the present-such as to save people during natural disasters! Well, should not such an attitude disqualify them from running for office? Shouldn't they be going to a therapist instead of to their offices? Their dead-end philosophies have caused a short-term reversal of human progress in a few short years. This universal loss of faith in the future is even arousing fear in the collective mind that the Maya End Date-2011/12-is when the end will come. Meanwhile, peace cannot come into form in a world that helplessly awaits its own demise! The Summer Solstice chart is cast for Washington, DC, since the USA has been attempting to become the world empire during the Galactic Underworld. First we look to the Sun as it moves into 0 Cancer. Venus has just passed the Sun and is still very close at 3 Cancer, and Venus passed behind the Sun just a few weeks ago. In Maya astrology, Venus is the harbinger of war and peace, so isn't it fascinating that Venus in the 1776 USA Founding chart is in 3 Cancer? That is, Venus in the Summer Solstice Chart conjuncts the USA Venus, which suggests that the USA is the arbitrator of peace and war this summer. Sun/Venus are exactly opposite Pluto, which has just retrograded back into Sagittarius and is moving close to the Galactic Center. As discussed in the May New Moon analysis, Pluto will be back in Sagittarius once more through November, and then it will go into Capricorn in AD 2024. Therefore, everything that occurs during the summer season has galactic implications-that is, this summer/fall is a time of cosmic awakening. Because the USA has displayed such great hubris, the human species is about to experience shocking limitations. Simply put, many people will see that they themselves are the cause of the degrading violence. Meanwhile, Pluto on the Galactic Center opposite Sun/Venus will ferociously increase personal cosmic attunement, as our lonely separation from the rest of the universe becomes more palpable. Many of you have going through terrible financial losses. Do not forget that you have a chance to make some changes while Pluto is back in Sagittarius until November. The spirits will help you if your heart is open and you trust the process of change; ask them for advice and support. Regarding this summer, Saturn in 3 Virgo exactly sextiles Sun/Venus in Cancer, which will encourage you to see the real source of the problems-unbalanced male/female relations. All large events are fueled by Mars/Venus conflicts that come first from us! And, Saturn trines Pluto on the Galactic Center, so Father Time is the emissary for the people who cry to be received in the Galaxy, in the cosmic dimensions. It will be easy for you to receive guidance if you can drop your limiting view of what is possible, yet the door will shut on those who won't shift. You will be amazed at what you see. Next, this analysis gets very complicated because we are imagining how to unravel dysfunctional patterns in the human psyche that have built up over five thousands years during the National and Planetary Underworlds. Pathways for human restructuring can be found by analyzing the nodes of the Moon-the crossing points on the ecliptic that reveal how the past influences the probable futures. Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius sit right on the lunar North Node, which is a great combination for using spirituality and healing to determine the future. Mars (war) in Leo (ego) sits right on the lunar South Node, which reveals the source of our past blocks. The planets on the lunar nodes are in opposition, since the lunar nodes are always the ends of an axis that indicates where we are heading. Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius on the North Node say we are healing our spirits by letting go of ego and getting connected to "all that is". Mars on the South Node means the ego pattern we are releasing is war and aggression, and because it is in Leo, renouncing ego is the way to do it. Why do people always need to win? What kind of mechanisms can we see for making such critical evolutionary leaps? The astrological mechanisms that cause change are quincunxes, the 150-degree angles between planets. Occasionally, two planets in sextile form a double quincunx to an opposing planet, which is called the Yod or the "Finger of God." When we have a Yod, the patterns that are pushing us to a new order succeed; what will happen can be read by analyzing it. When Yods occur during New and Full Moons; in seasonal charts; and when planets are changing direction, big changes are coming for sure. Not only that, the opposing planet at the top of a Yod actually identifies the nature of the shift. During this Summer Solstice, the mid-point between Jupiter and the Moon in Capricorn exactly sextiles Uranus in Pisces, and the opposing planet (the top of the Yod) is Mars on the South Node. This significant Yod is pushing Mars to go to another level. Also, Uranus is stationary in the sky and goes retrograde June 26; deep reflections on how aggression affects our spiritual growth will be a theme this summer. Many people are going to remember the higher level of Mars, since Mercury goes direct just before the Summer Solstice on June 19. (Watch to see if the old warrior John McCain shifts his position on Iraq at this time.) Jupiter/Moon in Capricorn means that our feelings will be deep, real, and effective, yet quite constrained this summer. This is a good combination for sober thinking coming from deep emotions just waiting to emerge. If you know somebody with Moon conjunct Jupiter in Capricorn, you've learned to listen when they speak because they keep their own counsel until just the right time. Uranus in Pisces has been activating a whole new level of spirituality since 2003. It is certainly ironic that Uranus went into Pisces just before Bush invaded Iraq, which makes me wonder if this great regression in world politics happened to force the human race to examine its own behavior. Thus, Uranus in Pisces-spiritualization of change itself-and Neptune in Aquarius-radical transformation of spiritual access-have been the guides for the awakening to peace during the Galactic Underworld (1999-2011). So, with Uranus in the Yod to Mars and Neptune opposite Mars, the great awakening will progress in major ways this summer-even though, at times, this could seem to be in ways that are negative. Don't expect to find the Good News on the evening news, since the newscasters who might slip in the truth have slipped away, such as Peter Jennings and Tim Russert. In summary, the emergence of deep feelings about seemingly endless war will activate a spiritual movement to clear the emotional blockage of humanity. The aspects to Mars, the god or inner archetype of war, are stunning. Mars right on the lunar South Node tells us it is karma time, which means experiences in wars past are being played out on the field daily. That is, the wars that are going on just do not have much to do with real issues on the planet, such as food and fuel shortages and financial and weather disasters. The opposition from Chiron/Neptune right on the North Node says that the current "now" is about healing delusions and fantasies, so that we can experience true spirituality. The Yod to Mars from Jupiter/Moon sextile Uranus says the time has come for Mars to demonstrate his full potential, which is the real protection of women and children, community, and the planet itself. Ultimately Mars will not be petty, and he will shuck off petty people pretending to be soldiers for God. War is now atavistic, and Pluto on the Galactic Center is in charge now. New energy for life on Earth must be discovered; then Pluto in Capricorn (2008-2024) will build new structures for a new world. Pluto so closely opposing the Solstice Sun/Venus will have his way this summer. Aggression will not be allowed to just consume the planet, because Nature always balances Earth. If it takes the flooding of the whole heartland in the USA and other earth changes to stop war, then that is how it will be; this summer promises to be a very telling moment in human evolution. Again, how can we envision a positive outcome? Saturn sextiles Venus/Sun, and so no matter how difficult this transition will be, it will create order that has lasting results. With Saturn trining Pluto on the Galactic Center, many are ready to face the music, get honest, and change now; they will be spared on many levels. It is time for each to decide which side of the fence they are sitting on, and make sure the fence is not decorated with fleur-de-lis! Lastly, I'd like to end with a few words about a correct prediction in The Mayan Code on page 177. I noted that the medical and pharmaceutical colossus would collapse during Night Five. In the science section of the June 17 New York Times, a deep analysis of doctor discontent in the USA was published. The insurers, including Medicare and Medicaid, function as bankrollers for profit-motivated pharmaceutical companies and hospitals. Doctors, who have medical licenses to carry out pharmaceutical protocols, keep this all going, but only as long as they are highly paid. According to the article, doctors are being forced to spend many hours on paperwork and dealing with "managed care" instead of practicing medicine. Then, hospital admissions and prescriptions by doctors are frequently (30-40 %) denied by managed-care reps who don't know anything about the patients. Worse than that, doctors rarely can attend their own patients in hospitals. This puts the patient at risk because they are in crisis, and hospitals without active doctors are a very dangerous place to be. To top this off, doctors who are severely limited in their ability to act are being forcefully challenged by patients, who are armed with their own knowledge about their conditions! To top that off, Medicare payments to doctors are about to be reduced on July 1, 2008. Obviously, if the doctors can't stand allopathic medicine anymore, this for-profit medical system will collapse. The New Moon that follows each season is always the kickoff of the given season, so be sure to watch for the reading of the July 2-3 New Moon in Cancer! Leo New Moon: August 1, 2008 View Chart The political direction of our world changed fundamentally under the influence of the Cancer New Moon and the Full Moon in Capricorn during July! This switch is world shaking, and so I must begin by summarizing the many stressful and hopeful signs that we can see. A new world is emerging in which many individuals are feeling the planet as a whole, not as just a place that unfairly favors the rich over the poor. Intentional peace and joy on our beautiful, green planet is precipitating down into our dimension from higher worlds. As you may know, I predicted back in 2006 in The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind that significant moves toward peace would be occurring this summer-that is, if Carl Calleman's time-acceleration theory is actually guiding evolution. He seems to be right about his interpretation of the Mayan Calendar: we are now moving into the Fourth World of the Galactic Underworld (on August 15, 2008), and the human collective mind has radically shifted its perspective. [See Chapter 7 of The Mayan Code.] Regarding things right now, the July New Moon indicated that a critical number of us would begin to really focus on the survival of our species. During July, many people were turning away from fuel-inefficient vehicles. New gas hogs were piling up unsold at the dealerships, which has forced the Ford Motor Company, for example, to begin retooling SUV and truck factories for the manufacture of smaller and fuel-efficient vehicles. Many people were selling these hogs for anything they could get and turning to smaller cars, bikes, and electric scooters. People went back to using their public transportation systems, while the Post Office and school bus networks reorganized their routes to save fuel. The amount of gas being used in the USA went down for the first time in the history of the automobile. With so many people changing their habits, the business world realized it had to change quickly. Of course, because the US economy is based on ever-increasing growth, it is in big trouble. In the July New Moon, I discussed several notable configurations that would structure these trends, while I focused on Mars in Virgo. Mars was moving into a conjunction with Saturn in Virgo (exact on July 10), which would be the completion of a major Mars configuration during the Summer Solstice that had the potential to tip the balance toward peace this summer. (During the Solstice, Mars was opposite Chiron/Neptune on the lunar North Node, and Uranus in Pisces sextiling Jupiter in Capricorn formed a Yod to Mars in Leo on the lunar South Node.) See the reading for the Solstice for more understanding about this configuration, since it seems to be a magic wand that is generating a great wave of peacefulness this summer. As I've said many times, peace will probably come when the US economy falters and short-circuits the agenda of America as Empire; this is why I'm analyzing the troubled economy in such detail. Also I want you to know that I had great difficulty writing and publishing my July readings for the New and Full Moons. Now that these aspects have passed, I can tell you that the Cancer New Moon chart showed an exceedingly high probability that greater warfare could break out during the July 10 Mars/Saturn conjunction, and the pressure would continue until a bit past the July 18 Full Moon. I decided last month not to speak about potential warfare because it can be unwise to energize such thoughts. After all, our minds do create our reality! I could see that if an outbreak into greater war could just be avoided during July 2008, then the world could turn to peacemaking. The Mayan Code posits that the Middle East has become a dualistic vortex that is generating great violence in the world. To avoid energizing this ancient conflict, I made myself into the joker-and attempted to deflate these potentials by joking about male erectile dysfunction (EDS) as the actual cause of war. The very day after the New Moon, talk of EDS was all over the news! Somebody discovered that the activating chemical in Viagra is in watermelons, and men were shown lining up to buy big quantities on the news! As you will see in the next paragraph, the President of Iran pulled off a hysterical stunt with the ultimate phallic symbol, ballistic missiles; this was not quite so simple or so funny. During the first week in July, as the Mars/Saturn conjunction was building energy, a series of wild events began playing out: The Bush Neocons were attempting to push a bill through Congress (H. Con. Res. 362) that would authorize an economic Blockade of Iran, which would certainly trigger an Iranian response, since many countries are fearful about their food supplies. Meanwhile, rumors were rife that Israel was going to bomb nuclear plants in Iran, believing that the USA would back them, since it had so quickly rushed weapons to Israel when it bombed Lebanon in 2006. Iran's President announced that Iran would bomb back if they were attacked. Amidst this tension, oil was pushing $150 per barrel, and rumors were flying around of coming US bank failures and weak capitalization in mortgage finance. As the Full Moon was building, Iran's President Ahmadinejad-on the very day of the Mars/Saturn conjunction-released photos of nine ballistic missiles shooting off, and he said they'd use them if Iran were attacked. Frankly, I didn't think we would make it through this confrontation. But the next day, defense analysts announced that Iran had faked the missile launchings. Partly due to this crazy scenario as well as oil at $147 threatening the world economy, nobody bombed anybody! I was ecstatic because as an astrologer, I knew that a potentially horrible moment had passed. Like Goliath not being able to even see David, this wild stunt probably stopped the Israelis right in their tracks, maybe permanently. Mars conjunct Saturn was past, and if we made it through the Full Moon without an attack, a turn toward peace was possible in August. The world just suddenly changed as if God snapped his fingers and the angels are winking at all of us. From the Mars/Saturn conjunction through the Full Moon, astonishing events took place. What's the hard evidence? Syria began having direct talks with Israel. Lebanon formed a new government that made a key exchange possible, and Israel held a day of mourning when the bodies of two Israeli soldiers killed in the recent war in Lebanon were brought to Israel, as the remains of nearly 200 Lebanese and Palestinian fighters were returned to Beirut. This moving exchange may be the beginning of peace in the Middle East. The photographs of the wives and mothers and father of the dead soldiers were awesome. Israel cut a ceasefire with Hamas as well as dealt with Hezbollah for the prisoner exchange. Then, suddenly and miraculously, the US totally shifted its position toward Iran and the whole 'axis of evil"! Negotiators were hastily sent out to talk to North Korean and Iranian officials; the US was now talking with its designated enemies. This means the world is winding down war and aggression, and more quickly than we can imagine. The facts are, as oil pushed $150 a barrel, Ahmadinejad of Iran was smiling all the way down to the bank, while banks and mortgage firms in the US were developing significant cracks; Goliath has fallen by his own weight. Next, the day after the Mars/Saturn conjunction, a major US bank, IndyMac, failed, and people lined up for their money, just like during the Great Depression. And, rumors of impending food shortages are inspiring radical change. For example, an alliance of small countries with China and India has stopped the last round of WTO tariffs that would have taken more food management away from Third World countries and put it under the control of First World countries. When people get hungry, it's obvious who would be eating steak. Right after the Full Moon, the poor condition of the largest US mortgage lenders, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, became apparent, so the Congress rushed a banking bill through the Congress and Senate to avoid an American and world-wide crash. This was amazing because House Republicans mostly opposed this bill, which Bush had already said he would sign. With so little time or energy left for the Neocons to threaten Iran, tensions cooled in the Middle East. Meanwhile, in case these things sound like bad news to you, all kinds of really great things were also happening. They are so numerous and more are coming in so fast that all I can do is mention a few. Suddenly many new developments for alternative fuels were coming forth; big cars were getting dumped for small cars, bikes, and tennis shoes; and, best of all, really bad and evil men were getting caught and exposed: Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe caved in to public pressure, and his rival in the recent contested election will be his vice-president. The Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic (who massacred nearly 8,000 Bosnian men and boys) was captured. This is very significant regarding the Mayan Calendar, since the war in Bosnia kicked off the Galactic Underworld back in 1999. The International War Crimes Tribunal will try Karadzic, who was having a ball during the Galactic Underworld acceleration living openly in the guise of a New Age medicine man! The world is going to need this global court while it struggles to turn away from the wars, murder, and barbarity that were created during the development of civilization of the National and Planetary Underworlds; examples need to be made out of these monsters. Many of you probably also have the Iraq War in mind? As I write this column, Iraq is again collapsing into civil war, and it has been announced that US soldiers killed unarmed civilians last month. Well, I have found evidence that this war, which has gone on longer than WW II, is just about to end. As many of you know, Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki has announced publicly that he wants the Americans to leave, and Barack Obama and George Bush talk openly of troop withdrawals. Stunningly, on July 26, 2008, the New York Times published three graphic Iraq War photographs in a story about the attempted ban of photographer Zoriah Miller's courageous work. The US has gone way beyond censorship by consistently blocking combat photos, as well as photos of the coffins of returning dead soldiers. This ban on visuals has caused the war to be unreal for most Americans. If you can recall the War in Vietnam, it ended when the graphic photos of the My Lai Massacre sickened the American public. The photos published July 26 of bloodied dead American soldiers in the field and one shot dead in a Falluga house, and a little Iraqi girl whose parents were just killed by American fire are heartbreaking and gut wrenching. I hope this will cause Americans to feel the pain of war and to demand a pullout of the troops. Now we are moving into the prophesized zone for peace. Considering the great turn of events during July, we must consider the August 1 New Moon in Leo very carefully. On August 15, when the Fourth World of the Galactic Underworld opens, the seeds of peace will be planted on Earth from the higher dimensions because the fields have been so well prepared by all these events. The synchronicity of astrology and the Mayan Calendar suggests that the seeds of peace will be planted during the August 1 New Moon, and then will germinate up to and through the Full Moon on August 16. These seeds will germinate and sprout up through the Full Moon with great force because both the New Moon and the Full Moon are also eclipses! Wow! So, let us examine the New Moon looking for clues for how to bring about this Great Work. Remember, peace will only come to us if we create it in our hearts and then spread it out from ourselves into our personal circles, our communities, and our world. You have to begin by realizing that peace on Earth is possible. Wipe away your old limited conclusions this month. What does this chart show us about what you can do? The New Moon in 10 Leo is a total solar eclipse with Mercury and Venus in Leo right close by the Sun as it is obscured by the Moon. With these planets, the Moon, and the lunar South Node in Leo, we will feel like grasping for what we each want. Yet, while the Sun is obscured, we find we can let go of our personal desires for the greater good. No matter, we will be very full of ourselves and want to just take anything we desire. Yet, the eclipse will influence us to surrender to the greater needs of the whole and just flow with our personal desires. This ballsy mood will be expressed through love of healing and inspiration by spirit because Venus in Leo is opposite Neptune/Chiron in Aquarius on the lunar North Node. More exactly, we will be screaming for what we want while discovering the only way to get it is to utilize our spiritual and healing powers. This eclipse-accompanied by Mercury, which is inside Earth, and Venus, which is just outside Earth-is exceedingly intriguing. It will bring out the best in many people-yet many people will just feel crazy because they are afraid their instinctual urges won't be allowed. Seeking an image for this conundrum, I conjured up an interesting plot in my mind: These days, the owners of Hummers are really frustrated because they can't afford the gas to drive around in their personal tanks, which they can't sell because nobody wants them. Well, maybe the US government should buy them at bargain basement prices and ship them over to Iraq or Saudi Arabia! What I'm hinting at is this powerful lunar force-to have what you want in a world- is suddenly running out of gas, which may transmute human desires to a higher level. You are going to want peace in your families, health, and the end to wasteful conflict as your top priorities. Chiron is exactly on the lunar North Node during this solar eclipse, and Neptune is close to Chiron and exactly opposite Venus in Leo. As we've been seeing for months, the pathway out of the violence and pain are coming from female healing, and you will be seeing women (or the feminine within yourself) developing in amazing ways this month. Your ingenuity comes to the forefront during difficult times, and this wonderful human ability will be the cause of great change, because Uranus in Pisces quincunxes Venus in Leo. The spiritually-transformative powers of Uranus will be deeply expressive by means of the feminine this month, and the trigger for needed changes is going to be rising opposition to war from many quarters. Uranus in Pisces opposes Mars in Virgo, the Mars placement that is inspiring the move to negotiations instead of wider war. Mars also trines wise and grounded Jupiter in Capricorn, which means negotiators and politicians will be surprised by how much ground they can cover. Meanwhile, time acceleration during the Galactic Underworld is so sped up now that people in positions of power may find they can't even remember what they were all fighting about in the first place! As men and women of power carry out actions that are more in line with what the people want, they will be encouraged by support and good feelings. They will remember they have a heart. Pluto is retrograding back closer and closer to the Galactic Center, which is flooding our planet with cosmic input that lifts human spirits and inspires the mind of Gaia. Pluto widely squares Uranus in Pisces, activating spiritual transformation in a reluctant world. To summarize, there is great stress in the New Moon Chart between the personal and transpersonal realms, and the stellium in Leo will drive each one of us to go beyond ourselves, to fundamentally change our values. There will be maximal evolutionary pressure to change our very own species, and great individual struggles to feel good and be positive. We will almost feel like we'd rather change the world even if we have to die doing it. This is a better path than the path of the warrior, which is to kill and die for what your leader commands. To be truthful, this lunar cycle will probably be very disorienting in light of just how much change is going on, added to how much has to happen fast. How intense this will be is apparent in the Full Moon lunar eclipse chart for August 16, so we will have a look at it in order to anticipate what we can expect. During the August Full Moon, there will be two groups of planets (stelliums) situated on the lunar nodes, which means they are in opposition. This sets the intensity meter at 100 degrees! Some of you may know that the police always put on extra employees during the Full Moon? During this one they should double the force. On one side of the opposition, Chiron is exact on the lunar North Node in 19 Aquarius, and Neptune in 23 Aquarius is combust the Full Moon in 24 Aquarius. Opposing this Aquarian stellium, the lunar South Node in 19 Leo opposes the North Node/Chiron, while eclipsed Moon/Neptune opposes the Sun in Leo. Then close to the Sun in Leo we have Saturn in 10 Virgo, Mercury in 11 Virgo, and Venus in 13 Virgo, and Mars in 28 Virgo opposed by Uranus in 22 Pisces. Whew! All karmic issues will be on the table. What does this mean? It means that while your feelings and thoughts are shifting away from conflict as you learn how to cooperate, the tension between finding your spiritual and healing path is in maximum stress with your old sense of self. You will wonder how you can use order and structure to receive others and express yourself clearly. This is a set-up for the maximal level of change in each person. As you change, everybody will be changing around you as if you are stuck in a pinball machine with too many balls being shot off-ping! Yet, from a cosmic perspective, a powerful new platform of cosmic order will formulate during the Full Moon with Mars in Virgo exact square Pluto on the Galactic Center. This square will lock in a wider perspective into the mind of each person, because Pluto also trines the Sun in Leo and sextiles the Moon in Aquarius. As this cosmic platform locks into the Earth plane, a great knowing and remembering of the Goddess will till the soil of our planet with Jupiter in 13 Capricorn exactly trining Venus in Virgo. The change is coming folks, and the only question is whether you will resist and fight or just surrender and flow. In this case, nothing but surrender will actually work.
